Porter, Helen, Beckett, Frap and Ian took the boat across the cut from us at Boca Chita Key and went snorkeling. It was the first time for Beckett and maybe even Porter. It was very exiting to see underwater! There was a school of fish that swam by. There were shells and lots of coral too. My favorite was the little purple fish that I saw.

A group of us went water skiing first since we had only one set of skis. Terry was the official driver of our boat. He hadn’t done this in over ten year. We were all politely deciding who would be the first victim in the water. Mary, the bravest in the family, stepped forward. She yelled as she jumped into the chilly water. It took a time or two for her to get up on the skis considering she had not water skied in may years and was having difficulty with the hand signals to slow down or speed up.
Frap went next. He got up on one ski right away. We were all very impressed with him since he too hadn’t skied in quite some time.
Helen went next and got up right away too! She dropped one ski and was able to slalom. She was great. The only problem is we lost her ski the second go around and spent a lot of time looking for it. Eventually we did find it and we found Tom and his crew for some more water skiing.
I know some more of you tried your hand at water skiing but I didn’t see it so don’t have an accurate report. It was fun to try something again after 10-15 years. Especially something we did a lot of when “we were young”!!
